Visit these wonderful Cities: Lisbon, Fatima, Rome and Assisi
November 21-29-2008
Day 1 - Today we depart from Newark Intl Airport on our overnight flight to Lisbon. We will be served complementary dinner and beverages on board, in-flight movies, and breakfast aloft.
Day 2- We arrive at Lisbon Airport in the early morning, go thru customs regulations and will be met by our tour guide operator and drive to Fatima. Register at hotel, rest for a few hours. In the early afternoon we will tour the city of Fatima. After diner, we will join the Rosary and candlelight procession at the Basilica.
DAY 3 - Fatima. This full day is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. Valinhos, Aljustrel the town of the birthplaces of the three little children who witness the apparitions of Our Lady for the first time on May 13th, 1917. Speak to old living family members of Francisco, his sister Jacinta, and their little cousin Lucia. See and witness by yourself how these children lived back in the 1917. Our afternoon will be free for private devotion and shopping. At night, we join the Rosary and candlelight procession.
Day 4- After breakfast, we will leave the Hotel and celebrate mass in Santaren, place where Holy Eucharist started to bleed. After mass will be transferred to Lisbon Airport, to board a plane to Rome. Afternoon at leisure, our hotel is only 5 minutes away from St. Peter’s Square.
Day 5 –After breakfast, we will visit Old Christian Rome. Learn about its past, visit the ruins and gain knowledge of about its history. Vatican City, its government, history and geography and the Holy See, where the Holy Father, Benedict XVI lives.
Day 6- After breakfast, we will be taken to St. Peter's for an audience with Pope Benedict XVI at the Paul VI Hall of Audiences or St. Peter’s Square. Later Visit to Vatican City and learn its history, the catacombs and the tomb of John Paul II. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 7- After breakfast, we will leave for Assisi. We’ll visit the Basilica St. Francesco with Mass. After our visit of the Basilica and the tomb of St. Francis of Assisi.We begin our walking tour on his village. Included, will be a visit to the Church of St. Clare to view the crucifix that spoke to St. Francis. We pass by the famous Temple of Minerva in the Piazza del Comune. Later we return to Rome have dinner and rest.
Day 8- After breakfast, we’ll be taken back to Rome Intl airport, destination Lisbon. Arriving Lisbon in the afternoon. Our guide will take us for a City tour and includes a visit the Shrine of Anthony of Padua, learn about his, life, canonization and sainthood.
Day 9 -After breakfast, we’ll go to Lisbon airport to take our flight back to Newark Airport. End of journey.
